Rev. Andy Caldwell - Senior Pastor
Andy is married to Jo, they have three boys, Callum, Mackenzie & Benjamin.
Andy heads up the spiritual leadership and direction of Mutley Baptist Church which involves the preaching, teaching and pastoral care of the Church…In other words, the buck stops here!
Steve Campion - Youth Pastor
Steve is married to Rebecca, they have two young children, Noah and Eve.
Steve grew up in north London, but thinks Plymouth is better. Steve’s three main hobbies are football (spurs), cycling and cheese.
Steve’s responsibilities are; Youth Pastor (Spiritual oversight of the under 18s) Youth Evangelist (telling young people about Jesus) and Youth team leader (helping the rest of his team to do the same). Steve is also part of the church leadership team.
Emily Davies - Pastoral Assistant - Small Groups
Emily is married to Andy and they have three children. Emily spent 21 years growing up and living in Hertfordshire. She tends to keep quiet about the fact that she was born over the border in Essex!

Pauline Sobey - Church Cleaner
Pauline is married to David. She spends her spare time visiting her Mum in Staddicoombe, who is 80. Pauline has a twin brother and a younger sister. She enjoys walking, reading, word puzzles and watching History programmes. She has been a member of Mutley Baptist since the mid 80's.
Anne Brindley - Families Pastor
Anne loves gluing, sticking and colouring so it’s a good job she’s the Families Pastor and has plenty of opportunities to indulge her passion! She runs all the toddler groups during the week and Buss Club on Saturdays, plus a few specialist evening groups just for good measure. Anne loves children and has a passion for encouraging parents to spend quality time with their children. Her son has said that she has a mental age of 7, which is ideal for the type of work she does!
MBC is a big Church with loads of people, staff, leaders and members working all over the world, MBC is a lively, friendly community of more than four hundred people of all ages who meet together regularly, to share faith, enjoy worship, and build friendships. We are helped to do that by a large and diverse team under the leadership of Andy Caldwell, our Senior Pastor. The day to day running of the church, its activities and buildings is shared between our ‘front of house’ staff …
Fiona Spicer - Pastoral Assistant - Vulnerable Adults & Buildings Manager
After a career in retail, a spell at Bible College, having three amazing children, accompanying her marine biologist husband around the world and living in Canada, Denmark and Sheffield (where’s the sea?) Fiona and co settled in Plymouth about eight years ago. She loves art in all shapes and forms and is enthusiastic about the use of art in Christian worship, ministry and life. Responsible for encouraging ‘creativity’ within church, which involves managing the day to day use of the building, the caretakers and cleaners, she sees her main role as generally stirring people up to be involved!
Carol Wiggin – Associate Childrens’ Pastor/Office Team Member
Carol is married to Mark, and they have 4 grown up children – Hazel, Ian, Stef & Joe and a cat called Knightley. She moved to Plymouth from rural Shropshire in 2000, though is in fact a Brummie….. She works in the church office on Monday and Friday, and with the Youth & Children’s Team on Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday. On Thursdays she has a rest!
Pam Shelmerdine - Church Secretary
Nicholas Maxwell - Treasurer
Nicholas has been married to Vivienne since 1975, with four children and three grandchildren. Nicholas took on the church treasurer responsibility in March 2009 ably supported by a strong finance team. He has worked for KPMG for over 30 years advising on tax and is pleased to bring his skills to the church. He likes walking, gardening and orienteering in his spare time.

Dan Nation - Pastoral Assistant - Students
Dan recently graduated from Plymouth University where he studied Ocean Science and a Masters in Marine Geosciences. He became a Christian during his first year at Uni, and got baptised here at Mutley in Feb ‘08. He has led the CU at Plymouth Uni and now works part time as a delivery driver for a furniture shop in Plymouth.
He has a real passion to see students come to know Jesus and to see them actively involved in church. Dan also heads up the men’s ministry where he wants to challenge guys to ‘man up’ and become the men God is calling them to be …he also plays bass, supports Southampton FC and one of his life time dreams is to eat 7 different ‘all you can eats’ in 7 days!
